Sant Ambroeus

Brand Identity; Brand Guidelines; Print Collateral & Packaging Design; Environmental Design; Production; Client Management

From 2013 - 2017 I worked with SA Hospitality Group on refining the Sant Ambroeus logo, color palette and typography and developing a global style guide for the brand in preparation for international expansion. As the brand expanded, I worked closely with SA Hospitality Group to develop print collateral, signage, decor and experiential design elements into a unique, own-able and cohesive whole.  

These refinements coalesced into brand guidelines with a refined logo system, color palette, and a vector re-imagination of an original historical pattern from Sant Ambroeus’ first Milanese location. New elements were put to use in packaging, wallpaper and decor throughout locations in Palm Beach, New York and Paris, including a coffee bar in Sotheby’s New York headquarters and an installation at Frieze New York.

Palm Beach

In 2017, Sant Ambroeus opened its most stylish location yet : A Grand Café in the heart of Palm Beach, Florida. Vibrant signage, collateral and branded products welcomed a new and discerning audience to enter the world of Sant Ambroeus. 

Amoung the custom branded elements were a gelato cart, hand-painted gold leaf signage and wallpaper and signage.

Sotheby's

On the 10th floor of Sotheby’s World Headquarters in New York, a satellite location of Sant Ambroeus sits at the intersection of design, art and hospitality. The first in a series of branded coffee bars, the location’s branding is true to the spirit of Sant Ambroeus while appealing to the standards of the Sotheby’s institution and its clientele. 

Branded elements include custom signage, hand-painted menu boards, light boxes and packaging designed to act as decor.

Frieze

For the VIP Lounge at Frieze New York; Sant Ambroeus staged an immersive, uniquely branded pop-up location. The historical pattern, original to the first Milanese location of Sant Ambroeus became the leading motif. 

Enveloping walls and fixtures, what was once a tent became a jewel-box of color and pattern with a custom, floating menu board serving as the centerpiece of the room.
